I thought it would be fun to collect the udder pictures I have taken of some of our does as they progress from their first freshenings onwards. The art of being able to look at a first or second udder and envision what it will look like with maturity is something I am still working on. I am always tiling my desktop with udder pictures and staring at them, so I thought I would just organize them in one place to look at. If you have any sets of udder evolution pictures you would like to see included, feel free to send them to me.

Some tentative conclusions: The largest change happens between the first and second freshening. Rear attachments do not improve, but the appearance of height and width of rear does. Teats can become slightly more plumb, and the udder floor may develop more division over time, at least in some cases. Some udders can continue to improve into the 6th freshening.
